President and Founder:  Patrick Lufrano

Patrick Lufrano was born and raised in Northridge CA.  He attended St. Euphrasia Elementary School and Bishop Alemany High School.  Patrick was a 4-year starter for the men’s volleyball team at California State University Northridge and received a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He served as the assistant coach at California State University Northridge from 2001-2003

Patrick opened his own Farmers Insurance agency in Northridge in March of 2005.  Patrick has received the company’s top honor of Presidents Council 3 of the last 4 years. Patrick is also a member of the prestigious Million Dollar Roundtable.  This membership is recognized internationally as the stand of excellence in the life insurance and financial services business.

In addition to running a successful business, Patrick has been putting on a charity golf tournament for the past 10 years.  Over that time, Patrick’s efforts have raised over $150,000 for charities like Autism Society of America-Los Angeles Chapter, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Wounded Warrior Project.

In Early 2015, Patrick created his own non-profit organization, Fighting for Families, Inc.. The purpose of this organization is to raise money that will be donated and have a local impact on our community and its veterans. Patrick, his wife Casey and 3 daughters reside in Granada Hills.

Vice President: Anthony O’Shea

Anthony James O’Shea was born in Los Angeles, California.  He is currently retired from the Los Angeles County Probation Department where he worked for nearly 37 years.  During his career he served many capacities, including assignments in the Juvenile Detention and Camp Services Bureaus.  He also served as a Departmental Liaison to the State of California Los Angeles County Superior Court, Juvenile Division, for over 6 years.  The remainder of his career was spent in Supervisory and Management capacities primarily in the Foothill Area, Juvenile Division.  Tony completed his career in 2006, retiring after nearly 37 years of service dedicated entirely to the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders.  Since retirement Tony has served in a voluntary capacity on The Advisory Council of Rancho San Antonio Boys Home for nearly 10 years. His family includes his wife Mary of 47 years, his son Kevin and daughter Kerrie.  His hobbies include coaching youth sports and golf.  Tony was privileged to know all 3 men that the Fighting for Families Tournament honors and was lucky enough to call Jim Sater his best friend for over 40 years.  He considers it to be a distinct honor to be involved with Fighting for Families and to assist this endeavor in any way possible.

Secretary:  Jenny Crandall

Jenny has worked at Albertsons, LLC for 21 years and has held various positions. She is a project manager as well as works with both associates and customers.

Jenny has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from the University of Phoenix. She currently resides in Northridge California and is an active member of St. John Catholic School as part of their School Board. She currently is the Vice Chair of the School Board.  Jenny has been involved in many different volunteer roles including co-chair of the St. John Eudes 50th Jubilee in 2015, the yearly SJE parish carnival and the SJE yearly gala as a co-chair of the silent auction committee.   Jenny has been involved with Fighting for Families as well as the previous charity golf tournaments as one of the committee leads.  She is involved in Breast Cancer Awareness and does yearly fundraisers to support these activities.  She is honored to be a part of this charity and hopes that we can continue to raise funds for local veterans as well and continue to honor the memories of these 3 great men.

Treasurer:  Casey Lufrano

Casey Yvette Lufrano was born in Panorama City, California.  She currently works side by side with her husband Patrick Lufrano, owner of Lufrano Insurance Agency, Inc. in Northridge.  She is a licensed insurance professional and the current office manager of Lufrano Insurance Agency.  Prior to working in insurance, Casey was the head office manager for Richard Swatt, DDS in Sherman Oaks for 13 years.  Casey attended college at Cal State University Northridge and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology.  Casey is also co-owner and founder of a small business Cottage Food dessert company called CC’Cakeballs which is based out of Chatsworth.  Casey has been involved in many different volunteer roles including co-chair of the St. John Eudes 50th Jubilee in 2015, the yearly SJE parish carnival and the SJE yearly gala as a co-chair of the silent auction committee.   Casey has been involved with Fighting for Families from its start and played a key role in helping the organization become a corporation as well as obtaining its status as a non-profit 501(c)(3).  Casey is honored and proud to be a part of Fighting for Families, Inc., which allows her to be able to give back to our local veterans as well as honor the memory of Jim Sater, Brian Hoover and Matthew Lufrano.

Board Member:  Michael Preis

 Michael Preis was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley.  He attended Chatsworth High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology from Cal State University Northridge.  Being involved in the community is important to him and he is proud to say that he was honored in 2008 by both the State of California and Los Angeles County as “Volunteer of the Year” for his service in support of CSUN (his alma mater).  He is also currently a publicly elected Board Member of the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council, where he sits on the Land Use and Outreach Committees.  In addition, he was appointed by President Harrison of Cal State University Northridge to act as a community Board Member of the IAAC (Intercollegiate Athletic Advisory Council).  In his spare time, he is a Youth Soccer Coach, which plays homage to his years playing soccer, both recreational and professional.  Michael currently resides in Chatsworth, California with his wife Tait and three young children.

Board Member:  Mark Toohey

 Mark Toohey is a consultant for the California Earthquake Authority – also known as the CEA. While relatively new to the CEA team, Mark is not new to the insurance industry as he recently completed a distinguished 25-career with Farmers Insurance.
At Farmers, Mark was a Senior Vice President of Media Relations, Government Affairs and Insurance Agent and Employee Grassroots and Community Engagement. He also served as a Chief of Staff for the Farmers CEO.
In his media relations and marketing role, Mark was on a team that developed the Farmers award winning jingle, “We Are Farmers” and he also played a leading role in the company’s sponsorships of the Farmers Insurance Open PGA Tour event in San Diego; NASCAR auto racing; and a proposed National Football League stadium in Los Angeles.
Before moving to California with Farmers, Mark lived in Texas where he worked for both a US Senator and a Governor. Early in his career, Mark was a journalist with Texas’ largest newspaper, the Houston Chronicle. As a reporter, Mark interviewed two US Presidents with one of those interviews taking place in the President’s front cabin of Air Force 1.   Mark is honored to be a part of Fighting for Families and is excited to have a part in giving back to the veterans in our community.
